* pan card application

To open a fixed deposit a PAN (Personal Account Number) Card is necessary. Fortunately, it is possible to apply online (e.g. at the NSDL). After going through the pain of finding the appropriate Area Code, AO Type, Range Code, AO Number out of a list of around 200 entries (fortunately a search for “Indian Institute of Science” cut down the necessity of reading down to a few minutes), the applicant comes to entry number 14 as shown in the screen shot:

So, if you are responsible to fill out the form for minors, lunatics and/or idiots (all belong to the same group), you have to give their details here. So an idiot cannot apply for the PAN Card by himself. And honestly, who was never ever an idiot in an embarrassing situation? :-? Men like women are behaving idiotic every day in all parts of the world. Obviously “lunatic” and “idiot” refer to mental diseases or disorders, but it could have been expressed more politely and especially political correctly.
